JSP is Looking for 2nd Shooters and Photo Assistants
Jim Straka Photography is seeking 2nd Shooters and Photo Assistants in the area of Kaiserslautern, Germany. 2nd Shooters and Assistants will for weddings, events and general portraiture photography. To get on “the list”, I do have a few basic requirements:
1.) Positive Attitude
2.) Great Personality
3.) Hardworking
4.) Photographic Knowledge - Technical & Equipment
The most important thing is that you have a great attitude / personality and not afraid to put in a honest hard days work. A good solid knowledge of all things photo is as equally important. Bear in mind photo school is not here, nor is 15 years experience shooting for Nat Geo.

JSP Needs Models
Midels wanted • Jim Straka Photography is building it’s library of models. We are looking for male and female models (18+) in the Kaiserslautern, Germany area for stock / portfolio portrait photography. Most of the modeling will be for wedding and couples portrait photography on location throughout Germany and France. Models may be expected to provide their own wardrobe and makeup. All levels of modeling is accepted. There a just a few basic requirements:
1.) Positive Attitude
2.) Great Personality
3.) Ability to take dirction
4.) Personality
You should have good posture and be able to carry yourself gracefully. Hair should be healthy and in good condition, teeth should be straight and white.

It was a not so nice cloudy, cold and rainy day… But there is always someway to get a great photo. The cloudy overcast rainy day gave great textures in the clouds and added a nice sheen to the paving stones.

A day at Opéra National de Paris

Over Thanksgiving weekend we took the ICE train from Kaiserslautern Germany to Paris France. I knew from a previous visit I had to visit the Opéra National de Paris and get one perfect picture of the Grand Hallway.
Moving to Germany
It’s been a while since I have posted anything… But I have a good reason. We have moved to Germany! Moving locally can put someone out of touch for a week or two, depending on the move. For us it has been more like a couple of months. All is well and we are safe and in good health. We will move into our new german home in Kaiserslautern, Germany at the end of next week.
